Father Matthew, disgraced and exiled from his parish for reasons whispered but never fully spoken, is on a pilgrimage of uncertain purpose. God has haunted his dreams with strange visions, commanding him—tithes in hand—on a journey to modern-day Gomorrah: the wretched, glittering abyss of Las Vegas. There, he meets the Shark—a charming, venomous gambling addict who offers to guide the newcomer around town, seeing in Matthew nothing more than a walking payday.

As the odd couple stumble through the glitz and grime of the Vegas Strip, they cross paths with drunks, dancers, Liberace, and Nero himself—a toga-clad street performer who may be cracked, divine, or both. Through cabaret shows, roulette tables, and drive-thru wedding chapels, their journey becomes less a quest for faith and more a scramble for meaning in a city where everything’s for sale—even salvation.
